Last updated: 1/11/2025
Location: Ivy Cottage Pedigree Ryelands, Back o’th’ Low Road off Hollins Road, Oldham, United Kingdom
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions apply to all visitors participating a Farm Visit – Feeding Sheep and Chickens organised by Ivy Cottage Pedigree Ryelands. By booking or attending, you agree to these Terms and the Visitor Disclaimer.
2. Bookings and Payment
All visits must be booked in advance via our website, social media, or by direct contact. Full payment is required at the time of booking unless otherwise agreed. Bookings are non-transferable without prior written consent. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel bookings at our discretion.
3. Arrival and Duration
Please arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled time slot. We offer one hour, two hour and half day (3 hour) sessions. Late arrivals may result in reduced participation time. Parking is available on site at your own risk.
4. Safety and Conduct
All visitors must follow instructions from farm staff at all times. Children under 16 years must be accompanied and closely supervised by a responsible adult. Visitors must remain within designated areas and avoid restricted zones. Running, shouting, or behaviour likely to frighten animals is not permitted. We reserve the right to ask any visitor to leave if behaviour is unsafe, disrespectful, or causes distress to animals or others—without refund.
5. Animal Welfare and Feeding
Only feed supplied by farm staff may be given to the animals. Please handle animals gently and calmly; do not chase, grab, or attempt to lift them. Wash hands thoroughly after contact with animals, feed, or equipment, and before eating or drinking. Do not bring outside food or animal treats onto the farm.
6. Health, Hygiene, and Clothing
The Visit takes place on a working farm. Please wear suitable outdoor clothing and closed-toe shoes or boots. Eating, drinking, and smoking are not permitted in animal areas. Visitors who are pregnant, immunocompromised, or have health concerns should seek medical advice before attending. Hand-washing is mandatory after animal contact and before leaving the animal areas.
7. Weather and Cancellations
Visits will go ahead in light rain or mild weather. Please come prepared. In cases of severe weather, animal illness, or unforeseen circumstances, we may postpone or cancel visits. If we cancel, you may choose a new date or receive a full refund. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, refunds may not be available.
8. Liability
All visitors attend the farm at their own risk. We accept no responsibility for injury, loss, or damage except where caused by our proven negligence. Animals can behave unpredictably; please exercise care and follow all guidance. Vehicles and belongings are left on the premises at your own risk.
9. Photography and Media
You are welcome to take photographs for personal, non-commercial use. Please ask permission before photographing staff or other visitors. We may take photographs or videos for promotional purposes. If you do not wish to appear, please inform a staff member before your Visit begins.
10. Accessibility
We aim to make our farm as accessible as possible. Please contact us before your Visit to discuss any specific needs. Some areas may include uneven terrain or limited wheelchair access.
11. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
12. Visitor Disclaimer and Acknowledgement
By signing below, I confirm that I have read and understood the Ivy Cottage Pedigree Ryelands Terms and Conditions. I acknowledge that this is a working farm environment and accept that there are inherent risks associated with interacting with animals and outdoor spaces.
