One hour farm visit – the available sessions are all on a Sunday at 1pm. Following your visit to us, book yourself into https://the-roebuck-inn.co.uk our local pub, only 2 minutes in the car or 10 minutes walk, they do the best Sunday roast.
We also have availability for one hour farm visits on Monday or Tuesday – give Karl a call on 07541224331 and we can arrange something especially for you.
Home Schooling? Are your kids interested in farming and animals. Come and spend time learning about sustainable farming and getting “hands on” with the animals. Help us trimming the wool, giving supplements, collecting eggs, trimming hooves or even get involved with lambing (in May). Our animals are all friendly and cute, but we are a working farm and we need to do a lot of jobs to maintain the high welfare. Ring Karl on 07451224331 and lets talk through what’s available and tailor a package for your child. You will need to accompany your child on the session.
Do you have a Border Collie or other shepherding dog? If you want to come and see how your doggie can make it as a sheepdog, get in touch to arrange a time and date. We offer a similar package to the half day farm experience, but with the addition of you running your dog and trying to get it to listen to commands and whistles. Be a shepherd for the day with your own doggie – can he learn the difference between “away” and “come by” ? This will generally be for the dog and up to a family of four at a cost of £50 on Monday or Tuesday and £65 on Friday Saturday or Sunday (additional spectators £5 each). You’ll be a “fully trained” shepherd by the end of the session and your dog might not be as fully trained……..
Throughout the year we are offering a number of half day farm visits where you can participate in the activities of the farm. These include lambing, shearing, scanning and tupping.
Join us for Scan and Supper on 14th February – learn about how we scan the pregnant Ewes and look after them in the run up to lambing and then enjoy a Shepherd’s pie supper (veggie also available).
